Practice Director and founder of Physio On Miller, Melissa graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) and has worked in both hospital and private practice.
Melissa received extensive training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, under the guidance of leading physios, allied health professionals, nurses, doctors and surgeons, while being exposed to a huge variety of medical cases. Her comprehensive hospital experience has helped Melissa to better understand other health conditions that exist in individuals in the community.
After RPA, Melissa entered private practice in a highly regarded sports physio clinic on the lower North Shore. The experience and training she received there, exposed Melissa to a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems, including a number of rare diagnoses less common in the community.
Together with this experience, Melissa has completed post-graduate study, receiving a Certificate in Manual Therapy through Curtin University, Perth and is currently undertaking her Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Latrobe University, Melbourne.
Melissa’s interest in Pilates as an avid participant and qualified instructor is the reason it is offered at Physio On Miller. Personally benefiting and enjoying Pilates, Melissa believes it can help patients in their recovery, by building their core strength, stability and physical and emotional well-being. Melissa has completed Pilates Instructor Training with Stott Pilates and Pilates Institute of Queensland.
In her spare time Melissa enjoys swimming at the beach, playing tennis with her husband and chasing her 3 boisterous kids around the park.
